Mary Kathryn Borland is in her third year as an Academic Advisor for UAB's Academic Center for Athletics (AC4A). Her main duties include overseeing the academic progress for the Blazers' football team. A 2004 graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga., Borland obtained her bachelor's degee in vocal performance before moving to Troy University, where she earned her Master's of Sports and Fitness Management in May, 2006. In 2004, Borland served as a student assistant to the interim Athletics Director at Wesleyan College. She followed that by holding a Graduate Assistant position in Troy's Student-Athlete Support Services department from 2004-06. A native of Dothan, Ala., Borland is also involved in various organizations, including the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and is the athletics representative on UAB's Campus Academic Advisory Committee. |
